This mountain top is known as the Laurel Mountain Tree Farm Subdivision, and is a recreational sub division with wooded lots ranging from 10 -30 acres. The road into this area is 2+ miles long and is privately maintained (9 months of the year) by the home owners Association with annual dues of $ 100. This road is not plowed by the local township.
This subdivision has no electricity. Most of the cabin owners use a generator and some use solar power. Some of these owners use the Dish network or other technology for TV programming. This cabin has a satellite dish.
State Game Lands and Raystown Lake are an easy drive away. This property is 10-15 minutes away from a large grocery store, restaurant, gas station, gym, hardware store and other necessities in nearby Three Springs and Orbisonia. The larger towns Mount Union (20 min. away) and Huntingdon (30 min. away) are an easy drive from this property.
This cabin was started in 2017 and the owners have been working on it since that time. This is a single slope roof cabin that measures 16 X 40. ( 640 Sq. Ft.) It has two private bedrooms that measure 76 X 12, and they are side by side, at the back of the cabin.
The open room of the cabin that has the kitchen, dining and living space measures 16 X 28. Out of this area is a 4 X 7 bathroom with a shower stall and a sink. This cabin has no toilet inside and they use a portable toilet that is outside. This cabin has no septic system.
There is an open loft area on the back side of the cabin that measures 16 X 20. Because of the roof slope, not all of this upper area us walkable. There is also an additional loft space of 5 6 X 20 on the one side that can be used for storage. They use a ladder to access this area. If you finish part of this larger loft space, and consider that ½ of this larger area is living space this cabin would have 800 sq. ft. of living space.
There is a porch on the front of this cabin. This cabin needs finished inside and there are no door knobs or latches on the interior doors. There is a woodstove for heat with an external chimney . There is no kitchen stove in this cabin and a propane cook stove could be easily added.
This cabin has no well and they bring water to this property and it is stored in the loft area in plastic barrel and gravity flows to the kitchen sink, bathroom sink and shower. This plumbing needs completed. Some residents drill a well or catch rainwater from the roof in a cistern system for cabin use. There is a spring going down the mountain that can be used by all the residents. Many land owners bring their containers and fill them at this spring for their cabin use.
There is an external plug for a gas powered generator that powers the cabins lights and outlets. There is a small three sided storage shed near the portable toilet for storage.
This cabin is newer, bright with natural light and ready for your finishing touches. This cabin sits back off of the road and is private, and quiet.
This ten acre wooded lot is relatively flat and makes for easy walking or riding of the trails. There are deer, turkey and bear on this mountain. This mountain top has a 2 + mile loop road that you can ride a four wheeler or side by side on.
